About this file
This is a Fire Plan template document for use with USDA Forest Service contracts in Region 6 (R6-FS-6300-55). The template is a standardized form that contractors must complete as part of their contract performance requirements and does not address specific products or services required for this solicitation. Rather, it serves as an administrative framework for fire prevention and suppression protocols on Forest Service project sites.
The Fire Plan template requires contractors to designate key personnel responsible for fire matters, including the contractor's representative and fireguard(s), along with their contact information and fire qualifications. Contractors must document their fire prevention policies regarding employee smoking and open fires, which require written authorization from the Contracting Officer's Representative. The template mandates that contractors take immediate action to prevent and suppress fires in the project area and establishes the Forest Service's role in supplementing suppression efforts when necessary. Additionally, contractors must identify employees capable of performing firefighting duties, specify available vehicles and equipment for fire suppression, and establish reporting procedures to designated Forest Service employees. Joint preparation and acknowledgment of the fire plan by both the contractor and the Contracting Officer's Representative is required before execution.
