About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 1232SA26Q0282, issued as of 23 April 2026. The document addresses nine industry inquiries regarding HVAC and building system specifications with corresponding government responses clarifying project scope and technical requirements.

Key clarifications from government responses include: small amounts of new ductwork are required on MH101 for CV-3, FPB-1, and FPB-2 (with references to updated drawings MD101 and MH101); the original roofer ("X roofing contractor") must be used to maintain roof warranty when performing penetrations; servicing of existing HVAC equipment is excluded from scope; no refrigerant gauges, air compressors, or new unfired pressure vessels are required; the existing expansion tank is to remain in place with no new tank needed; boiler flue piping must be AL29-4C material with PVC intakes (not stainless steel or SCH 40 PVC as previously mentioned); and an air dirt separator is required with no additional air separation tank needed. The document clarifies several apparent contradictions or ambiguities in the original specification documents, particularly regarding material specifications and equipment requirements for the mechanical systems work.

Govt Response: There is a small amount of new ductwork on MH101 for CV-3. There will also be a small amount of ducting for FPB-1 and FPB-2. See update MD101 and MH101.

2. How are we to stay within the roof warranty standards? Should we bring the original roofer to flash in our penetrations? And who is the original roofer?

Govt Response: Use X roofing contractor to maintain warranty.

3. Should the existing and remaining hvac equipment be thoroughly inspected and serviced during this work period?

Govt Response: No, servicing existing equipment is not part of this scope of work.

Govt Response: No refrigerant pressure or temperature gauges are called for on the project.

5. Will you provide more information about the requirements for the air compressor unit to be provided and/or installed?

Govt Response: No air compressor is called for in the drawings.
