About this file

This is a Request for Sealed Proposal (RFSP) 25-352 issued by Richardson Independent School District (RISD) located in northern Dallas County, Texas. The proposal seeks qualified vendors to supply Classroom Music Supplies and Related Items for the district's 51 schools, which serve approximately 37,000 students across various school types. The solicitation covers items such as sheet music, recorders, Orff instruments, rhythm sticks, hand drums, triangles, shakers, ukuleles, music stands, and other related classroom music equipment. Proposals are due electronically through the Bonfire e-bid system by 1:00 PM on October 1, 2025, with the contract term spanning five years from November 7, 2025, through November 7, 2030.

The district will award the contract to multiple vendors based on an evaluation process that considers factors like discount offered (which can earn up to 50 points), vendor reputation, goods quality, service meet of district needs, and delivery estimates. Vendors must provide a primary discount from their published price list, with pricing to remain firm for the first year. The district's historical annual expenditure for these items ranges from $36,100 to $148,380 across recent school years. Notably, the solicitation explicitly states this is not for band instruments or instrument repair, and all purchases will be authorized through RISD purchase orders. The evaluation will prioritize qualifications and suitability of proposed services, not price alone, with the goal of achieving best value for the district.
