About this file

This is an insurance requirements document issued by the Broward County Aviation Department for a Safety Assessment project at North Perry Airport (HWO) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The document outlines mandatory insurance coverage requirements that vendors must maintain throughout the contract term. Key insurance requirements include General Liability with minimum limits of $2 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, Auto Liability with $1 million combined bodily injury and property damage coverage, Workers' Compensation at statutory limits with $1 million Employer's Liability per accident, and Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions) with $2 million per occurrence and aggregate limits for all engineering, surveying, and design professionals. Additional coverage requirements include Excess Liability/Umbrella policies to supplement minimum coverage and Pollution/Environmental Liability insurance with $5 million limits if the contractor performs testing, investigating, drilling, or handles hazardous materials on airport property.

All insurance policies must designate Broward County as the Certificate Holder and additional insured for liability coverage, except Professional Liability. The vendor's insurance must provide primary coverage with no contribution required from the County and must include 30 days' written notice of cancellation (10 days for non-payment). Vendors are responsible for all coverage deductibles unless otherwise specified in the agreement, with maximum deductibles established at $25,000 for Pollution/Environmental Liability, $100,000 for Professional Liability, and $10,000 for other coverages. Any self-insured retention must be declared to and approved by the County with proof of financial ability to cover potential losses. Installation floaters for Builder's Risk or Property coverage must provide "All Risk" and Completed Value protection with deductibles not exceeding 5 percent of completed value for wind and flood coverage.
