About this file

This is an insurance requirements document issued by the Broward County Transportation Department in Florida for a contract involving the purchase and delivery of safety footwear. The project encompasses an open-end contract for procuring safety footwear in men's and women's sizes for the Transportation Department and various other Broward County agencies. Vendor responses must be submitted electronically through BPRO by the specified closing date and time, with the County providing a designated period for vendors to submit questions and seek clarification regarding solicitation requirements. All questions must be submitted through BPRO's messaging system, and vendors are encouraged to submit their responses in advance of the deadline.

The insurance requirements mandate that vendors maintain comprehensive general liability coverage with minimum limits of $500,000 per occurrence and $500,000 aggregate, including broad form commercial general liability, premises-operations, explosion/collapse/underground, products/completed operations hazard, contractual insurance, and independent contractors coverage. Vendors must also carry auto liability coverage with minimum limits of $500,000 combined bodily injury and property damage, workers' compensation at statutory limits, and employer's liability coverage of $100,000 per accident. Broward County must be named as an additional insured, and the vendor's insurance must provide primary coverage without requiring contribution from the County. A waiver of subrogation applies in favor of Broward County. For claims-made policies, insurance coverage and evidence of insurance must be maintained for at least three years after contract completion. Proof of insurance is not required if delivery will be by common carrier.
