About this file
The document is a General E-Signature Agreement from the County of Bergen, New Jersey, addressing electronic signatures for government business transactions. The agreement references the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-Sign Act) and the New Jersey Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), which authorize state and local government agencies to use electronic forms, filing, and signatures for official business as of June 26, 2001.
The agreement establishes a framework for vendors to provide an official electronic signature valid for one year, enabling them to submit bids, RFPs, RFQs, and other offers to participating local units. To be valid, the electronic signature requires consent from both parties, an affirmative signature with a record, and must be created by an authorized individual representing the vendor. The document provides space for the vendor to enter their name, title, contact information, and signature, with the understanding that the signature will serve as an official electronic signature for conducting business with the county.
