About this file
This is a Certification of Legal Work Status form required by the City of St. George, Utah, for contractors performing work on the Gunlock Well #6 Redrill project. The form establishes compliance requirements for contractor employment practices and mandates that all contractors and subcontractors verify worker legal status through the E-Verify system prior to commencing work. Contractors must obtain an E-Verify number, maintain authorized documentation of verification, and require all subcontractors to sign and submit their own Certification of Legal Work Status to the City before performing any project work.
Contractors who knowingly employ workers or engage subcontractors in violation of 8 USC § 1324a are subject to unilateral contract termination and suspension from future City projects for one year. Violating contractors are liable for all costs associated with termination, including damages and attorney fees incurred by the City. The form requires the contractor's signature, official title, company name, address, and unique E-Verification number. Contractors can obtain an E-Verify registration number through the federal E-Verify website or the Utah-specific verification registration portal. The City reserves the right to request documentation verifying compliance with all applicable state and federal employment laws at any time during contract performance.
