About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) for a K9 Heat Alarm procurement. The document outlines a contract for a specialized alarm system designed to protect K9 units in vehicles by monitoring temperature and providing automated safety responses. The K9 Heat Alarm must be a new, current product that includes standard manufacturer equipment and accessories. The technical specifications require the alarm to be triggered by temperature, monitor vehicle temperature, automatically unlock and open vehicle doors when deployed, drop windows when temperature sensors are triggered, provide a notification system to alert the handler, and allow for temperature alarm settings.
The document serves as a detailed specification sheet for potential contractors, requiring bidders to review and respond to each technical feature by indicating whether they can meet the requirements and noting any deviations. Bidders are instructed to return the Statement of Work and specifications with their bid response, with a requirement to check "Yes" or "No" for each specification and provide detailed explanations for any "No" responses. The procurement appears focused on acquiring a specialized safety device for law enforcement K9 units to prevent heat-related incidents in vehicles.
