About this file
This is a Contractor Security Acknowledgement Form issued by the State of South Dakota, Bureau of Information Technology (BIT), requiring contractors to comply with the state's Information Technology Security Policy. The form serves as a binding agreement that contractors and their employees must sign prior to accessing state technology infrastructure or information systems. Contractors acknowledge their responsibility to protect state technology and information assets from unauthorized activities including access, disclosure, modification, deletion, and usage. The agreement requires contractors to follow all state and federal regulations regarding data confidentiality and handling, discuss any policy violations with state contacts, and promptly report violations to the designated State Contact and BIT Help Desk at 605-773-4357.
The form establishes that access to state technology infrastructure is a privilege granted at the discretion of BIT management and may be changed or revoked without notice. Contractors understand that violations of the security policy may result in privilege revocation and potential breach of contract determination by the state. Access automatically terminates upon contract termination unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. The individual signing the form on behalf of the contractor affirms authority to commit the entire company and all its employees to compliance with these security requirements. This acknowledgement must be returned to the designated BIT Contact and signed by both the contractor representative and the BIT Contact, with printed names and company information required on the form.
