About this file

This document is a technical specification section (Section 10 26 23.13) for Impact-Resistant Wall Protection for the MRI, CT, and Nuclear Imaging Renovations project at Granville Medical Center in Oxford, North Carolina. The specification provides detailed requirements for wall guards, corner guards, and rigid-sheet wall protection materials, including product performance criteria, submission requirements, installation instructions, and quality assurance standards. The document specifies high-impact polyvinyl-chloride (PVC) materials from manufacturers like Inpro, with precise installation guidelines including specific requirements for sheet placement, joint spacing, adhesive application, and trim installation.

The specification emphasizes technical performance requirements, including compliance with ASTM standards for impact strength (ASTM D256/F476), chemical and stain resistance (ASTM D543), and fungal resistance (ASTM G21). Installation tolerances are strict, with maximum variation from required height and level limited to 1/4 inch. The document requires detailed submittal documentation, including product data, shop drawings, manufacturer's instructions, and qualification statements. Installers must demonstrate experience with similar high-impact wall protection systems, and the installation process includes careful preparation, precise mounting, gap management, and thorough cleaning and protection protocols to ensure a high-quality final product that meets the medical facility's durability and aesthetic requirements.
