REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

7000 S Entrance Improvement Project

RFP# WJPS26042301

The City of West Jordan (“City”) is soliciting proposals from qualified S330 licensed contractors (“Contractor”) to construct improvements along the 70th South Entrance corridor. This project will enhance the visual character, functionality, and long-term maintainability of a primary gateway into the City.

BACKGROUND

The 7000 South corridor serves as a primary entrance into the City of West Jordan and is a key gateway for residents, businesses, and visitors. As one of the City’s most visible entry points, this corridor plays an important role in shaping first impressions and reflecting the community’s identity.

West Jordan is a growing community experiencing continued residential and commercial development. With this growth, the City has identified the need to invest in infrastructure and streetscape improvements that enhance aesthetics, improve functionality, and support long-term maintenance goals.

To support this effort, the City engaged Consor Engineers to develop design concepts and construction documents for the corridor improvements. In addition, an environmental study has been completed to evaluate existing site conditions and ensure the project is designed and constructed in accordance with applicable environmental requirements. Both documents are attached as exhibits to the RFP.

The 7000 S Entrance Improvement Project is intended to implement these planned enhancements by creating a more visually appealing, cohesive, and sustainable gateway into the City.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project includes landscape enhancements adjacent to the roadway and retaining wall construction. The work will require coordination with the public, utility providers, and City staff, as well as implementation of traffic control measures throughout construction. Awarded Contractor must act as the General Contractor.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND SCHEDULE

The City’s goal is to enhance the aesthetics of 7000 South by redesigning the park strips and surrounding landscape, creating an inviting city entrance. Historically, rocky features were incorporated on steep slopes, but over time, they have experienced erosion.
