About this file
This is a Bid Bond Form used by Marion County Board of County Commissioners in Florida for Contract 26B-057 NE 148th Terrace Bridge Repair. The bid bond serves as a financial guarantee that a bidding contractor will enter into a contract with the County if their bid is accepted and will provide the required performance and payment bonds as specified in the contract documents. The project involves repair of the NE 148th Terrace Bridge, including temporary traffic control and detour, excavation and embankment work, restoration of damaged bridge elements, localized deck and surface repairs, and milling and resurfacing of existing pavement. The form requires contractors to identify the principal (contractor), surety company providing the bond, obligee (Marion County), and the bid amount in both written and numerical formats.
Contractors may submit either a bid bond or a cashier's check in lieu of the bid bond as part of their bid submission. If a cashier's check is submitted, payment from a minimum of the top three ranked firms will be held by Procurement Services until a contract is executed with the recommended firm and approved by the County. Firms are responsible for retrieving bond checks or providing courier information for return; requests for standard USPS delivery must be made in writing, with the County assuming no liability for lost or misdirected mail. The bond penalty amount shall not exceed the difference between the submitted bid amount and any larger amount the County may incur contracting with another party to perform the work if the principal fails to enter the contract as bid.
