About this file
This is a Bid Bond Form associated with Marion County, Florida's Department of Procurement Services for the project 26B-103 SW Regional WRF O&M Improvements. The bid bond serves as a financial guarantee that the selected contractor will execute a contract in accordance with the terms of their submitted bid and will provide the required performance and payment bonds as specified in the contract documents. The project involves the installation of three new Positive Displacement Blowers with associated electrical work, site preparation, instrumentation, and stormwater infrastructure improvements at the Southwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility. The scope also includes decommissioning of three existing blowers and reuse of existing hydropneumatic tank and automatic valve components. Marion County has pre-purchased the blowers to expedite delivery and reduce lead times. Physical construction will commence upon blower delivery, though the selected contractor may begin permit acquisition activities immediately upon award.
The bid bond form requires that firms submit either a formal bid bond from a surety or provide a cashier's check in lieu thereof. Payment from a minimum of the top three ranked firms will remain in custody of Marion County Procurement Services until contract execution and approval by the County. Firms must either pick up returned bonds directly, provide a courier account number for FedEx or UPS delivery, or submit written request for standard USPS delivery, with the County relieving itself of liability for lost or misdirected mail. The bid bond amount and specific bid number and project title must be entered on the form, which requires signatures from the Principal (contractor), Surety, and authorized witnesses. All parties are jointly and severally bound to the obligation, which becomes void only upon successful contract execution with appropriate performance and payment bonds or upon payment of the difference between the bid amount and any higher amount the County must pay to engage another contractor.
