About this file
This is a Bid Bond Form for Marion County Board of County Commissioners in Florida related to Contract 26B-095 for the 2026 Marion Oaks Overlay project involving Units 9, 10, and 12. The project encompasses resurfacing of approximately 11.65 miles of minor local road sections, including roadway preparation, leveling, shoulder removal, temporary striping, permanent thermoplastic striping, and stabilization of all areas disturbed during construction. The bid bond form serves as a standard template requiring contractors to submit either a formal bid bond or a cashier's check as a bid security instrument, with payment from a minimum of the top three ranked firms to be held in custody by Procurement Services until contract execution and County approval.
The bid bond requires the principal contractor and surety to bind themselves jointly and severally for the full bid amount, with the obligation becoming null and void upon contract execution with appropriate performance and payment bonds, or upon payment of the difference between the bid amount and any higher amount the County incurs contracting with another party. Cashier's checks submitted in lieu of bid bonds must be retrieved by firms or submitted via courier; standard USPS delivery requests must be made in writing with the County relieved of liability for lost or misdirected mail. The form requires signatures from both the principal contractor and surety, with witness signatures, company addresses, and specific project identification details including bid number and dollar amount to be completed prior to submission.
