About this file

This document is an Equal Employment Opportunity Certificate for Milwaukee County Contracts, issued by Milwaukee County. The certificate requires contractors to comply with nondiscrimination policies and equal opportunity standards as outlined in Milwaukee County General Ordinance (MCGO) 56.17 and Title 41 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Contractors must commit to not discriminating against employees or job applicants based on various protected characteristics, including race, color, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, and other specified attributes.

The document mandates that contractors with 50 or more employees develop and submit an affirmative action plan within 120 days of contract award to the Milwaukee County Department of Audit. The plan's objective is to increase utilization of women, minorities, disabled persons, and other previously under-represented groups at all employment levels. Contractors must also ensure that subcontractors meet similar non-discrimination requirements and maintain non-segregated facilities. The certificate serves as a formal commitment to equal employment practices and provides guidelines for compliance, with potential contract termination as a consequence of violation.

Such action shall include, but not be limited to the following: employment, upgrading, demotion, or transfer, recruitment, or recruitment advertising; layoff or termination; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; and selection for training, including apprenticeship.
