The City of Bountiful Engineering Department is soliciting sealed proposals for construction of two separate hiking trail segments on public lands managed by the United States Forest Service in the Mueller Park area. Schedule 1 consists of approximately 250 feet of trail featuring significant rock retaining and tread armoring work, while Schedule 2 encompasses approximately 1.1 miles of trail with limited rock work. Both segments are to be constructed as Class 3 trails according to US Forest Service Trail Classifications and built to hiking parameters. Bidders may submit proposals for either or both schedules, and the City reserves the right to award each schedule as separate contracts to different contractors or as a single contract to one contractor. Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the City Engineer's office located at 795 S. Main St., Bountiful, Utah. An optional pre-bid conference and site tour for Schedule 1 will be held on Wednesday, February 25th at 9:00 am at Bountiful City Hall Engineering Office, with a caravan to Mueller Park. Project documents are available through email distribution from the Bountiful City Engineering Department and via the U3P Bonfire eProcurement website.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond from an acceptable surety company payable to the City of Bountiful in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the bid, serving as a guarantee that the successful bidder will execute the contract and furnish a performance bond within fifteen (15) days of award notification. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, any part of any bid, or waive any informality as deemed in its best interests. A decision regarding bid rejection or contract award will be made within seven (7) days after bids are opened. No specific budget amounts, set-asides, or incumbent information is provided in the notice.
