About this file
This is an Addendum #2 specification document for standing seam roofing work on the WHVCF - Phase 2: PSB & Fieldhouse Roof Replacement project, issued on June 29, 2026. The project requires the furnishing and installation of a complete weathertight and watertight standing seam metal roof system. The specified roofing shall consist of 18-inch-wide striated panels roll-formed from 24-gauge minimum prefinished steel with a Kynar 500 resin fluorocarbon coating in a color selected by the owner to match recently installed panels at nearby buildings. Panels must feature equally spaced stiffening ribs to minimize oil canning and be secured with concealed cleats to allow for longitudinal panel movement. The installation must achieve a U.L. Class 90 wind uplift rating with minimum panel securement at 2-foot-on-center spacing. The project also requires installation of high-temperature self-adhering modified underlayment over 100 percent of the roof surface, with additional layers at eaves and valleys, along with two layers of 2.6-inch ISO insulation and new plywood sheeting for sloped metal panel roofs. All work must be completed on a daily basis with each section finished before progressing to subsequent work.
The contractor must provide a two-year warranty on all new materials and workmanship covering watertight conditions, while the standing seam roofing manufacturer must provide a 20-year labor and material warranty for leakage and a 25-year paint finish warranty against cracking, peeling, fading, and panel corrosion. Approved roofing systems include Una-Clad UC-14 by Holcim Elevate, Medallion-Lok by McElroy Metals, Cee-Lock by Berridge Manufacturing Company, and DMC 175S Profile by Drexel Metals. All accessory items including clips, closures, ridge caps, counterflashings, and base flashings must be supplied by the manufacturer or an approved source and fabricated in minimum 24-gauge steel matching the roof panel color and finish. The contractor is responsible for protecting all materials during delivery, storage, and installation, removing all construction debris daily, and inspecting existing roof surfaces before commencing work. Panel end laps in the roof field are not permitted unless panel lengths exceed 50 feet, and all work must strictly follow manufacturer specifications and installation techniques to maintain warranty coverage.

PART TWO - PRODUCTS
2.01 Description
A. Furnish and install, complete, a new standing seam roof system as described herein.
2.02 Products/Systems
A. The new roof system shall consist of 18” wide striated panels or as approved by the owner. Panels shall be roll formed from 24 gauge (minimum) prefinished steel with equally spaced stiffing ribs to minimize the effects of oil canning. (25-year warranty on the finish). The exterior finish shall be a Kynar 500 resin fluorocarbon coating with a 1.0 mil dry film thickness. Color to be as selected by the owner from manufacturer’s standard colors. Panel finish color to match as closely as possible to the panels recently installed at other nearby buildings.
Seams shall be a minimum 1.75" high.
B. Panels shall be roll formed and cut to the lengths required by existing field conditions. Panel end laps in the field of the roof shall not be allowed.
C. Panels shall be secured with concealed cleats to allow for longitudinal panel movement. Cleats shall be secured to the wood framing as recommended by the roof system manufacturer. The manufacturer shall determine the size, spacing, and securement of the cleats. Installed standing seam roof system shall meet U.L. Class 90 wind uplift rating. Minimum panel securement shall be 2'-0" O.C.
D. In no case shall panel fastener heads be left exposed to the elements.

3.01 Description
A. The latest manufacturer specification and installation techniques are to be followed with the following requirements. These specific minimum requirements must be included in your bid and are not to be altered.
File No.: 472/24263.SAA 07410 -5
3.02 Inspection
A. Examine the existing roof surface. Correct conditions detrimental to proper and timely completion of the work. Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
B. A new nominal ½” sheeting panel shall be installed to provide a substrate for the new sloped metal panel roof system. New sheeting is not required for the vertical mansard panel installation (only the sloped panels that run down and onto the lower low sloped EPDM roofing).
3.03 Underlayments/Separator Sheets
A. Provide and install underlayments and/or separator sheets as required by the system manufacturers and as shown on the detail drawings. [Note: For this project, the high temperature self adhered modified underlayment is to be installed over 100% of the roof surface, with a second layer at the eave and in the valleys. The amount of self adhered membrane is desired to achieve the design recommendations for a 30 year system.]
3.04 Workmanship
A. Form all sheet metal accurately and to the required dimensions and shapes.
B. All exposed edges of cut sheet metal shall be folded back on concealed surfaces.
C. Form, fabricate, and install all sheet metal to adequately provide for expansion and contraction in the finished work.
3.05 Installation - General
A. Metal panel installation shall be made in accordance with manufacturers recommended procedures and layout drawings including fastening requirements to achieve U.L. Class 90 wind rating. Minimum fastening shall be minimum 4'-0" O.C.
B. Concealed cleats shall be required.
C. No face penetrations or perforations shall be made in panels fastened by concealed cleat method without prior approval of the owner's representative.
D. Metal panel end laps in the field of the roof shall not be allowed unless panel lengths exceed 50 feet. Panels shall be fabricated to required lengths, as field conditions require, to eliminate the need for panel end laps. Where panels will exceed 50 feet, there will be an allowance for a field lap, provided that laps are installed in accordance with the Manufacturers recommendations. If panel field end laps can be avoided, that would be desired.
E. Exercise proper care during installation to avoid damage or scratching of the panels. Avoid walking over the panels after installation is completed.
F. Finish all sheet metal watertight and weathertight where so required.
