About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers record from a site visit for Lake Sherwood & Blue Bend Campground Concession conducted on August 26, 2025. The Q&A covers operational details for a campground concession, including advertising permissions, law enforcement responsibilities, and facility management. Key points include: the Forest Service allows free advertising with reference to Appendix 9, state and local law enforcement will handle security, and the concessionaire may potentially expand the operating season with prior approval from the permitting official.
Additional details reveal specific site characteristics such as the lake being restricted to electric motors only, and operational discretions given to the concessionaire like bike rack placement. Facility-specific information includes Blue Bend's bathroom and shower facility using an electric water heater. The Forest Service suggests the concessionaire handle winterization themselves, though hiring the Forest Service for this service might be possible with prior consultation.
