About this file
This is a Statement of Work for Task Order 0001 issued under the Commercial Aviation Services — Airborne Science Support IDIQ contract with NASA Ames Research Center. The task order is firm-fixed-price and covers the Snow4Flow 2027 Campaign Startup for an Alaska Arctic campaign.
The scope encompasses two phases of work: Phase 1 (February 23–25, 2027) involves instrument installation, checkout, and certification of the Snow4Flow instrument suite aboard the contractor's aircraft at the contractor's facility, including engineering, fabrication support, and all airworthiness actions required for flight release. Phase 2 (February 26–March 2, 2027) requires transit flights from the contractor's facility to Alaska and initial science flights with NASA science personnel aboard operating the instruments, with the contractor providing all crew, maintenance, fuel coordination, and logistics. Ordered quantities include 3 days of aircraft daily rate at-base, 5 days of aircraft daily rate deployed, 14 flight hours at the hourly rate, an estimated 2,240 gallons of fuel, per diem and travel for 1 job, and engineering, fabrication, and certification support for 1 job. The firm-fixed price is established in Task Order 0001 Attachment 3. Deliverables include certificates of insurance before the first flight, aircraft modification and airworthiness documentation before Phase 2 transit, flight and maintenance logs with milestone invoices, a flight operations report following Phase 2, and a post-deployment report within 15 calendar days after March 2, 2027. The Safety and Health Plan must be in place before any flight operations. Payment is milestone-based upon Government acceptance by the Contracting Officer's Representative. This task order is non-severable and fully funded at issuance, with the task order applying toward the guaranteed minimum stated in the basic contract schedule.
