About this file

This solicitation is for the repair and replacement of domestic water pumps and associated infrastructure at Building 420 of Schriever Air Force Base. Rather than two large domestic pumps, the project will install a combination of small, medium, and jockey pumps on variable frequency drives to provide water flows between 100 and 600 gallons per minute to meet normal and fire flow demands. Specifically, three medium pumps operating in parallel will meet maximum daily demand plus fire flow requirements, with a fourth identical medium pump as a standby. All steel water piping within and around the building will be replaced with resized pipes equipped with new valves and fittings for ease of maintenance. A new fire department connection accessible from the roadway will also be installed, with location to be approved by the SAFB fire department. The contractor shall complete hydraulic modeling and install the pump and pipe system upgrades in accordance with design drawings and analysis to provide sufficient water pressure and quality under fluctuating conditions.
