About this file
This is a work area specification document for the State of Oregon related to tree removal and brushing operations at Exit 48 along Interstate 5. The project involves clearing brush and trees from the right-of-way (ROW) to the fence line to open signs to traffic and improve visibility. Work includes removing all trees between the fence and roadway, trimming trees back at the fence line, and brushing all vegetation to the ground. The scope specifically addresses a partially buried fence obscured by blackberries and trees, with portions of trees extending over the fence line requiring removal. All pruning work must maintain the health of remaining living trees, and care must be taken to preserve structural integrity where applicable.
The work area spans Interstate 5 from mile post 48.3 to 50 and is part of a larger clear zone tree removal project. The specification includes photographic documentation of the work site through multiple reference images showing current conditions. This document serves as detailed guidance for contractors bidding on or executing the tree removal and disposal services, establishing the specific parameters for vegetation management, clear zone requirements for signage visibility, and safety protocols for the identified work corridor.
