UNSPSC 73101608: Fertilizers production services

UNSPSC 73101608 Fertilizers production services is a Commodity code under which state and local governments procure herbicides, fertilizers, pesticides, and related chemical treatments for grounds maintenance and specialized turf care. Recent solicitations show purchasing concentrated in two operational areas: general-use chemicals and fertilizers for county and municipal facilities, and specialized golf course chemicals and fertilizers with tailored application and consultation requirements. State and local issuing bodies under this code include county departments of maintenance and city parks or recreation divisions managing municipal golf courses. Both Pasco County, Florida and the City of Bradenton have issued solicitations within the past four months, signaling active procurement in the grounds-care segment. Vendors must typically hold three or more years in business demonstrating prior comparable contracts, maintain OSHA Material Safety Data Sheet compliance, carry comprehensive liability and workers' compensation insurance, and comply with state registration and E-Verify requirements. Custom-blended products require manufacturer certification, and deliveries frequently demand specific scheduling windows and site-access protocols.

Geographic activity clusters in Florida, with recent IFBs from Pasco County (posted May 12, 2026, response due June 16, 2026) and the City of Bradenton (posted March 18, 2026, response due February 19, 2026). Pasco County's solicitation IFBSP26074 covers herbicides, fertilizers, and pesticides on an as-needed basis for two county maintenance facilities through September 30, 2029, with optional two-year extensions and bi-annual CPI-U price adjustments; no budget ceiling was disclosed. The City of Bradenton's IFB 26008NT targets approximately 53 line items of golf course chemicals and fertilizers for River Run Golf Links with annual quantities ranging from 1 to 60 units and an estimated total spend of $140,000. Both solicitations permit award to single or multiple vendors and impose no formal disadvantaged-business set-asides, though Pasco County offers local vendor preference consideration. The code shows limited recent activity beyond these two Florida opportunities; no opportunities from other states or issuing-body types appear in the source.
