NIGP 44558: Saws (Non-Powered): Hack, Keyhole, Pruning, Pole, etc.

NIGP 44558 Saws (Non-Powered): Hack, Keyhole, Pruning, Pole, Etc., an Item code, covers the procurement of hand and manual saws used across state and local operations for vegetation management, grounds maintenance, and general repair work. State and local governments soliciting under this code seek both consumable saw inventory and services tied to saw maintenance and related work — including blade sharpening, chainsaw repair, and tree trimming and removal services that depend on pruning saws and similar hand tools. Recent solicitations show city parks and public works departments, county transportation agencies, and state departments of transportation as primary buyers, with activity spanning municipal grounds maintenance contracts, regional vegetation management services, and periodic blade and accessory supply procurements.

Three representative recent opportunities illustrate the current market: the City of Scottsdale issued IFB 26IFB074 on May 11, 2026, seeking preventative maintenance and repair services for approximately 150 small engine units including chainsaws and hedge trimmers, with sealed bids due June 9, 2026; Caltrans District 10 posted an Invitation for Price Quote on March 26, 2026, for tree trimming, pruning, and removal services across eight central California counties (Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne) restricted to certified small businesses and disabled veteran business enterprises, with quotes due April 13, 2026; and Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners released ITB-26-00199 on March 6, 2026, for reciprocating saw blade supply with an estimated value of $78,367 over two years and bids due March 26, 2026. Activity centers in Arizona and California with notable representation across Florida, reflecting geographic distribution of state DOT maintenance operations and city public-works procurement.
