NIGP 10548: Pillow Blocks (for Bearings)

NIGP 10548 Pillow Blocks (For Bearings), an Item code, encompasses bearing support hardware and related component parts that state and local governments procure for equipment maintenance and mechanical systems. Recent solicitations show state purchasing offices buying pillow block bearings through cooperative purchasing agreements, with specifications allowing bidders to propose alternate manufacturers when supported by detailed specification sheets.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), Contracts and Procurement Department, issued solicitation IW245782 for pillow block bearings and related components through the Educational Service and Business District (ESBD) cooperative purchasing consortium in May 2026, with a bid opening and submission deadline of April 22, 2026 (note: the due date predates the posted date, indicating this was a historical opportunity at the time of reporting). The ESBD framework aggregates purchasing power across educational institutions and related entities throughout Texas. Amendment No. 1 required acknowledgment in bid submissions. The source supports no other recent opportunities under this code; activity appears sparse in the current state and local procurement environment.
