UNSPSC 31171511: Pillow block bearings

UNSPSC 31171511 Pillow block bearings is a Commodity code that captures the procurement of pillow block bearing assemblies and related component parts by state and local government purchasing departments, typically through cooperative purchasing consortiums that aggregate demand across multiple jurisdictions. State and local government agencies buy these bearings for industrial equipment maintenance, facility operations, and specialized applications where bearing replacement or repair is required. Issuing bodies include state departments (such as the Texas Department of Criminal Justice), county purchasing offices, and educational service cooperatives that pool purchasing power across member institutions and districts. The solicitations allow bidders to propose alternate manufacturers beyond initially specified brands, provided detailed specification sheets accompany the proposals, indicating that state and local buyers prioritize both standardized performance requirements and qualified supplier alternatives.

Recent activity is concentrated in Texas. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Contracts and Procurement Department in Huntsville issued an IFB (Bid No. IW245782) posted May 7, 2026, for pillow block bearings and component parts through the Educational Service and Business District (ESBD) cooperative purchasing consortium, with a bid opening and submission deadline of April 22, 2026. Bidders were required to acknowledge receipt of Amendment No. 1 in their proposals or face rejection. The solicitation does not disclose explicit award values or budget ranges in accessible portions of the available materials. Beyond this active opportunity, the code shows limited recent posting volume in state and local procurement systems.
