UNSPSC 31171519: Bearing blocks or housings

UNSPSC 31171519 Bearing blocks or housings is a Commodity code under which state and local governments procure pillow block bearings and related bearing component parts for machinery and equipment maintenance. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) has recently solicited bearing products and alternate manufacturer specifications through the Educational Service and Business District (ESBD) cooperative purchasing consortium, indicating that state agencies and affiliated institutions use this code to standardize and aggregate procurement of rotational equipment components across multiple facilities and operational needs.

The recent activity in this code is sparse. The TDCJ Contracts and Procurement Department in Huntsville, Texas issued IFB IW245782 for pillow block bearings on May 7, 2026, with a bid opening on April 22, 2026, and required acknowledgment of Amendment No. 1 as a condition of bid acceptance. The ESBD cooperative purchasing vehicle allows bidders to propose alternate manufacturers beyond the initially specified Moline Bearing brand, provided detailed specification sheets accompany proposals. Beyond this single substantive solicitation, the record shows only an administrative relocation notice from Williamson County Purchasing Department and does not support characterization of broader geographic spread or issuing-body patterns in this commodity code.
