About this vehicle
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration established a Master GSA Schedule for X-Ray Equipment and Supplies on January 1, 2007, with ordering closed as of January 31, 2024. This vehicle is no longer active—the last task order award occurred on February 27, 2024, more than two years ago, and the ordering period has expired.
Over its 17-year lifecycle, the vehicle generated 1,479 task orders valued at $15.9 million in combined potential value, of which $15.4 million (97 percent) has been obligated. The vehicle contracted nine categories spanning medical and dental X-ray film, illuminators and viewers, film processors, grids and cassettes, film cutters and perforators, angiographic injectors, video X-ray equipment, and an open-ended new-products category. Task orders reflect actual procurement of X-ray film, lead and radiation barriers, angiographic injectors, diagnostic equipment such as digital radiography systems and PACS hardware, and protective eyewear and garments.
Ordering activity was extremely concentrated in a single prime. Carestream Health, Inc., captured 1,201 of 1,479 orders (81 percent of awards) and $9.7 million of the $15.9 million combined potential value (61 percent). The next four primes—K-Art X-Ray Supply LLC, Veran Medical Technologies Inc., Sourceone Healthcare Technologies Inc., and Burlington Medical LLC—held only $4.6 million combined, or 29 percent of potential value. Five firms accounted for 91 percent of all task orders. The remaining 12 primes split the tail.
Customer concentration was broader. The Department of Health and Human Services Indian Health Service led with 120 orders ($2.2 million potential value), followed by NIH Office of the Director with 100 orders ($2 million potential value) and the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery with 58 orders ($943 thousand potential value). These three agencies represented only 23 percent of total orders, indicating demand was scattered across 56 distinct federal customer organizations.
Nearly all 1,479 orders carried no set-aside designation (1,443 orders, 98 percent). Thirty-four orders (2 percent) were total small business, with one economically disadvantaged woman-owned small business sole-source award and one woman-owned small business award. Task-order values ranged from $154 to $877,525, with most orders clustering below $50,000. The largest single award was a digital radiography X-ray systems delivery order valued at $877,525, followed by several navigation and thoracic-system orders in the $115,000 range.
