About Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration
Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is a non-profit organization that specializes in infectious diseases research, including malaria, HIV, TB, and evaluation processes. IDRC provides research services to the federal government through both prime and sub federal contracts and grants.
Through past federal contract sub-awards, IDRC has provided entomological services in malaria vector identification, confirmation, and analysis to prime contractor ABT Associates Inc. IDRC has also conducted laboratory analysis of malaria vectors under a subcontract with John Snow, Inc., including species identification, detection of resistance markers, and sporozoite rate determination.
Through past federal grant awards, both as a prime recipient and sub-recipient, IDRC has conducted numerous research projects related to infectious diseases. These have included studies on integrating hypertension screening and treatment into HIV care models; evaluating blood pressure care and treatment among Ugandans living with HIV; studying housing modifications for malaria control; strengthening research administration capacity; assessing antimicrobial drug resistance in malaria; and implementing trials related to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of TB, malaria, and other infectious diseases. IDRC has received infectious disease research grants from agencies such as NIH, CDC, and USAID. In its role as a sub-recipient, IDRC has collaborated on federal grants with organizations such as UCSF, Washington University, and Stanford University.
