Museum Grants for American Latino History and Culture (2025)
The Museum Grants for American Latino History and Culture (ALHC) program, administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), supports projects that build the capacity of American Latino history and culture museums to serve their communities. The program also aims to advance the growth and development of a professional workforce in American Latino cultural institutions. Eligible applicants include units of state, local, or tribal government, private nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status, and institutions of higher education, including Hispanic-Serving Institutions. Applications are due by 11:59 pm ET on November 15, 2024, and the ALHC program aligns with IMLS's agency-level goals to champion lifelong learning, strengthen community engagement, and advance collections stewardship and access. The anticipated funding for this opportunity is $6 million for approximately 24 awards ranging from $5,000 to $500,000. The period of performance for selected projects is expected to be from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2028. The opportunity does not specify any particular place of performance for the funded projects.
