The U.S. Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) awarded a $675,000 Cooperative Agreement under the OVW Technical Assistance Initiative (CFDA 16.526) to Futures Without Violence. This 3-year project, beginning October 1, 2023, will provide a spectrum of multi-modal training, technical assistance, online tools, and other capacity-building support to help survivor-serving and coalition organizations enhance their infrastructure, staff development, and overall organizational sustainability in addressing violence against women. Key activities include delivering direct technical assistance, developing in-person trainings and learning modules, conducting webinars, and creating online resources to strengthen the capacity of criminal justice professionals, victim service providers, and community organizations to effectively respond to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

The Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) awarded Soteria Solutions a 3-year, $500,000 Cooperative Agreement under the OVW Technical Assistance (TA) Initiative (CFDA 16.526) to implement the Strengthen Campus Needs Assessments and Strategic Planning Project. Through this project, Soteria Solutions will provide training and technical assistance to build the capacity of OVW Campus Program grantees to conduct strategic planning, assessments, and monitoring of their campus violence prevention initiatives. Key deliverables include revising assessment materials, providing guidance on project evaluation, hosting virtual/in-person workshops, and offering direct technical assistance on strategic plans and needs assessments. This award is a continuation of Soteria's previous $399,394 Cooperative Agreement with OVW for a similar campus support project from 2020-2023.

THE OFFICE ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (OVW) TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (TA) INITIATIVE PROVIDES OVW GRANTEES AND SUBGRANTEES WITH THE EXPERTISE AND SUPPORT THEY NEED TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT SUCCESSFUL STATE, LOCAL, TRIBAL, AND CAMPUS PROJECTS; INCREASE VICTIM SAFETY; AND BOLSTER OFFENDER ACCOUNTABILITY. THROUGH COOPERATIVE AGREEMENTS, OVW SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES, CONFERENCES, PEER-TO-PEER CONSULTATIONS, AND TARGETED ASSISTANCE THAT ALLOW CURRENT AND POTENTIAL GRANTEES AND SUBGRANTEES TO LEARN FROM EXPERTS AND ONE ANOTHER ABOUT HOW TO OVERCOME OBSTACLES AND INCORPORATE PROMISING PRACTICES IN THEIR EFFORTS TO ADDRESS VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. IN ADDITION, OVW IS FOCUSED ON BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF THE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL JUSTICE SYSTEMS AND VICTIM SERVICES PROVIDERS TO RESPOND EFFECTIVELY TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, DATING VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, AND STALKING AND TO FOSTER PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE NOT TRADITIONALLY WORKED TOGETHER TO ADDRESS VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. THIS AWARD WILL SUPPORT FY 2022 TA INITIATIVE PURPOSE AREA 49, TO PROVIDE BASIC AND ADVANCED TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION ON EFFECTIVE COMPREHENSIVE PREVENTION STRATEGIES. THE TIMING FOR PERFORMANCE OF THIS AWARD IS 24 MONTHS. THIS AWARD IS FOR YEARS 1 AND 2 OF A FIVE-YEAR COMPREHENSIVE TA PROJECT AWARDED COMPETITIVELY UNDER THE OVW FY 2022 TA INITIATIVE SOLICITATION. THIS AWARD IS A CONTINUATION OF 2017-TA-AX-K047.
