About this opportunity

Regional School District No. 16 is seeking competitive bids for a comprehensive track and athletic field improvement project at Woodland Regional High School, located at 135 Back Rimmon Road in Beacon Falls, Connecticut. The procurement involves multiple components, including the removal and replacement of the existing asphalt base running track and perimeter chain link fencing, with installation of a new asphalt base, urethane surfacing, and new perimeter fencing. The project includes a base bid for running track replacement and football field renovation, with several alternates available for bidders, such as artificial turf field replacement, pressbox audio system replacement, and pedestrian lighting installation. The solicitation was released on September 15, 2023, with a bid submission deadline of October 5, 2023 at 8:00 AM EDT. A vendor question-and-answer period is open from September 15 to September 29, 2023, during which potential bidders can seek clarification about the project specifications. Interested vendors must submit comprehensive proposals that address the base bid and optional alternates, with each line item requiring detailed pricing and specification. The project contact is Anthony DiLeone from Regional School District No. 16, who can be reached at 203-758-6671 or adileone@region16ct.org.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on vendor participation, indicating the solicitation is open to all qualified firms. No information is provided about incumbent vendors or current contractors for the existing facilities. The documentation does not disclose an estimated total project value or specific budget range, leaving pricing flexibility for vendors. Delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be determined by the individual vendor. The project is part of the Woodland Capital Improvement Project #WTRF 2023, suggesting it is funded through the school district's capital improvement budget. While no specific evaluation criteria are explicitly outlined, the RFP implies that the most competitive and comprehensive bid will likely be selected. The lack of detailed funding information and total project value suggests vendors should prepare comprehensive proposals that demonstrate value, technical capability, and competitive pricing across the base bid and alternate components.
