About this opportunity

Granite School District in Salt Lake County, Utah, is seeking competitive bids for Various Chili Powders through Invitation for Bid (IFB) JB26-307, specifically targeting Chile De Arbol, Guajillo, and Ancho Chili Powders for its Child Nutrition Department. The procurement will utilize federal funds and seeks vendors capable of providing chili powders in minimum 12 oz containers, with estimated monthly usage of 70-100 lbs per chili powder type. The contract will commence upon award and continue for one year, with potential for four additional one-year renewals. Bidders must submit comprehensive proposals through the Bonfire platform, including detailed documentation such as nutrition labels, crediting information, formulation statements, and a completed cost sheet. The solicitation does not explicitly indicate specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Vendors must comply with federal procurement regulations, including equal employment opportunity requirements, debarment and suspension guidelines, and anti-lobbying certifications. Contractors are required to maintain specific insurance coverage, including workers' compensation and commercial general liability insurance with a minimum of $1 million per occurrence. While no incumbent vendors are identified, potential bidders must demonstrate capabilities in K-12 food service, provide detailed product recall procedures, and ensure at least 51% of agricultural food components originate from the United States. Though a specific award value is not disclosed, the district reserves the right to award the contract to a single or multiple vendors based on comprehensive evaluation of submitted proposals, with pricing to be fixed for the initial one-year contract period and potential future adjustments tied to the Producer Price Index for spices.
