About this opportunity
The University of Rhode Island is requesting quotations for one 2026 or newer one-ton cargo van with crew cab seating and roll-up rear door for its Dining Services Division under RFQ27006858, with quotations due August 19, 2026.
The vehicle must be a high-roof configuration with 159-inch extended wheelbase, white exterior, 276 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine with front-wheel drive, 9-speed automatic transmission, crew van seating with vinyl bucket seats and rear bench seating, and passenger-side sliding door with window. Required features include heated power-folding mirrors, digital rearview mirror, 220-amp alternator, 100-amp battery, 115-volt and 12-volt auxiliary power outlets, touchscreen display, heavy-duty polyurethane or polyurea spray-on floor liner, backup camera, emergency braking, and DOT-certified safety kit with fire extinguisher. The specification sheet must be completed in full and submitted with the bid response; failure to do so may result in the bid being deemed non-responsive and ineligible for consideration.
The solicitation uses the Dodge Promaster 3500 series as the basis of design but explicitly permits equivalent vehicles from any manufacturer that meet or exceed all stated specifications. Bidders must disclose any deviations or substitutions on the Required Specifications Form and obtain University approval before award; failure to disclose deviations may result in bid rejection.
Suppliers must certify that all vehicle specifications have been reviewed and accurately identified as either meeting requirements or, where applicable, provide alternate options for agency consideration. The specification sheet requires the supplier's printed name, signature, and title for submission verification. The vehicle will consolidate personnel and catering material transportation for event support throughout campus. URI is exempt from Rhode Island's contract administrative fee under R.I. Gen. Laws 37-2-12.
