About this opportunity
Ocala Electric Utility is issuing RFI ELE/260867 for information on commercially available underground single-phase fusible cabinets, with responses due July 28, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST. This is a market research solicitation for budget development and future procurement planning only and does not commit the utility to issue a formal solicitation.
The scope addresses fault protection and circuit sectionalizing solutions integrated into existing underground distribution networks, including vault and pad-mounted applications, while maintaining compliance with utility, ANSI, IEEE, and NEMA standards. Respondents must provide information on six areas: single-phase underground distribution protection capabilities; circuit sectionalizing and fault isolation functionality; installation requirements and space constraints for vault and pad-mounted applications; maintenance and inspection procedures including expected service life; applicable industry standards compliance; and supporting photographs or catalog information.
OEU seeks to improve reliability and operational performance of its underground single-phase distribution system by reducing the number of customers impacted during fault conditions and enhancing overall system resilience.
Responses must be submitted electronically in PDF format via the City's e-procurement portal (bidocala.com) or emailed to bids@ocalafl.gov. Vendors must register as vendors in the ProRFx e-procurement portal at no charge. Questions are due July 23, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. EST. The City will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in responding. All responses are exempt from public disclosure until thirty days after opening or notice of an intended decision, whichever is earlier, then become public records under Florida Statutes Chapter 119. Contact Caley Conard at cconard@ocalafl.gov or (352) 629-8234 for clarification.
