About this opportunity
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is soliciting bids for a repair service contract for hydraulic lift apparatus in Region 3's Basin Area, specifically covering Daggett, Duchesne, and Uintah Counties. This Invitation for Bid (IFB) seeks qualified contractors capable of providing comprehensive repair services for hydraulic lift equipment of all brands. Contractors must maintain a repair shop within one of the three specified counties and demonstrate the ability to respond to repair requests within 24 hours. Key qualifications include possessing a table press with a minimum 40,000 foot-pound torque capacity and a testing unit capable of detecting leaks at 3,000 pounds per square inch. The solicitation requires bidders to submit pricing based on three labor rate categories (machinist, technician, and shop labor) and provide a parts markup percentage. Evaluation will be conducted based on the lowest total labor cost combined with the lowest parts cost after markup, with bids due by January 23, 2026. The contract term is established at five years with no renewal options, and pricing must be guaranteed for one year following contract execution.
There are no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types mentioned in the documentation. Bidders must comply with standard state requirements, including E-Verify registration for Utah-based employees, maintenance of appropriate licensure, and compliance with federal and state employment laws. Insurance requirements include workers' compensation, commercial general liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence/$3,000,000 aggregate, and commercial automobile liability of $1,000,000 combined single limit if vehicles are used. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the solicitation allows contractors to bid on one or more counties, with potential for multiple awards. Contractors must provide a one-year warranty on all repair work and submit itemized invoices within ten days of work completion. The state reserves the right to cancel the solicitation at any time and does not guarantee any minimum purchase volume under the resulting contract.
