About this opportunity
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is requesting proposals for Ubiquiti security camera and network equipment installation at three remote radio communications sites in San Mateo County, with proposals due November 19, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., and a non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting on October 21, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
San Mateo County's Procurement Preference for Local Businesses Ordinance awards five percent preferential points to local businesses, an additional three percent (eight percent total) for small businesses, and an additional five percent (ten percent total) for micro businesses.
The scope encompasses installation of approximately 21–27 Ubiquiti IP security cameras (7–9 per site), Cloud Gateway Industrial units, Network Video Recorder Pro units, PoE network switches, cellular WAN failover devices, temperature/humidity sensors, and 6U toolless racks. The contractor furnishes and installs all labor, materials, CAT 6 weather-rated network cabling, conduit, mounting hardware, weatherproofing materials, and cable management. Work includes equipment assembly and rack mounting, network cabling and termination, conduit installation and weatherproofing of penetrations, camera positioning and alignment, equipment configuration and adoption into the Ubiquiti network, comprehensive system testing and commissioning, permanent labeling, inspection of owner-furnished equipment, and debris removal. All work occurs within existing facility footprints with no site expansion. The contractor must correct any installation-related deficiencies identified during testing.
Vendors must maintain a minimum of three years' experience in installation and configuration services within the past five years, possess a valid Unique Entity ID and SAM.gov registration, and hold all applicable California business licenses and certifications. Pricing shall be submitted on a lump-sum basis for equipment installation, support materials, and installation labor per site, with sales tax at 9.38%. A performance bond (typically 1–2% of total project price) is required and covered by project budget. The contract term is one year with no renewal options. Questions and contract exceptions are due November 9, 2026 at 11:55 p.m. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for November 27, 2026, with anticipated award on November 30, 2026.
