About this opportunity
Summit County, Utah is requesting sealed bids on the Trailside Sidewalk Project, an ADA-compliant concrete sidewalk construction in the Snyderville Basin area, with bids due July 30, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summit County Engineering Office in Coalville. Addendum No. 1, issued July 17, 2026, corrects omitted plan detail sheets (2.C and 2.D); all bidders must acknowledge this addendum in writing and submit the signed acknowledgment with their proposal, or the bid will be rejected.
The scope includes excavation, 4-inch colored concrete flatwork (5,941 square feet), colored park-strip sections, curb and gutter (Type M1), ADA-compliant curb ramps per APWA standards 236.2 and 236.3, stamped reinforced concrete crossings (8-inch thick), approximately 180 to 150 linear feet of 12-inch high-density polyethylene storm-drain pipe with catch basins and junction boxes, pedestrian crosswalks with white striping, driveway apron replacements, relocation of driver feedback and flashing beacon signs, metal detectable warning surfaces, and all associated restoration. The bid schedule comprises 25 line items including 1,450 linear feet of curb and gutter and four Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon assemblies. Typical sections specify 6-inch untreated base course, 5-foot sidewalk widths with 2-percent slope, and 2.5-foot park strips. All concrete work must meet Class AA (AE) specification with contraction joints not exceeding 12 feet. Traffic control must comply with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
Bidders must hold a valid Utah contractor's license and conduct site investigations prior to submission. A bid bond or certified check of at least 5 percent of total bid amount, made payable to Summit County, is required. Upon award, performance and payment bonds equal to the contract amount are required. Substantial completion is targeted for October 1, 2026, with liquidated damages of $560 per working day assessed for non-compliance. Payment is made based on actual work performed and accepted, with mobilization costs tied to project completion milestones. Compliance with UDOT 2027 Standard Specifications and Drawings and equal employment opportunity requirements is mandatory.
Questions should be directed to Jacob Harris, Project Engineer, at Jaharris@summitcountyutah.gov.
