About this opportunity
The City of Tucson is seeking proposals through RFP No. 222995 for termite control services to be provided on an as-needed basis for various city departments across 77 municipal locations. The procurement will cover new termite treatments and existing termite warranties, with the potential to award multiple contracts to ensure adequate geographical, manufacturer, and product coverage. Contractors must be licensed by the Arizona Department of Agriculture and will be required to provide both liquid treatments and subterranean termite baiting system treatments, with pricing to be quoted per linear foot. The services will include specific treatment procedures, warranty periods, annual inspections, and comprehensive reporting. Key proposal evaluation criteria will focus on price, method of approach, qualifications, and experience, with the City reserving the right to conduct interviews with offerors. The solicitation was published on March 30, 2022, with a pre-proposal virtual meeting held on April 8, 2022, and proposal submissions due on April 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM local Arizona time. The initial contract term will be one year, with options for four additional one-year automatic renewals.
Contractors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage and comply with various safety, environmental, and professional standards. While no specific set-aside designations were explicitly mentioned, the RFP includes HUD Section 3 guidelines, which prioritize employment and economic opportunities for low- and very low-income persons. The contract will cover a wide range of city facilities including water buildings, fire stations, parks, recreation centers, council offices, libraries, pools, museums, administrative buildings, and specialized sites like the Zoo and Rodeo grounds. Pricing structures allow for existing warranty renewals and new treatments, with rates structured by linear footage ranges (0-200 ft, 201-400 ft, 401-800 ft, and 801+ ft). Each new treatment will include a 5-year warranty, with potential renewal or re-treatment options in the 6th year based on activity levels. While specific budget ranges were not disclosed, the comprehensive nature of the contract suggests a significant potential value across multiple city departments and locations.
