About this opportunity
The Fort Valley Utility Commission (FVUC) in Peach County, Georgia is issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the labor to install 4 new underground substation feeder exits and associated overhead distribution poles/lines. The project, known as the Fort Valley #1 (4) Substation Exits, requires licensed contractors to submit sealed bids. FVUC will furnish all materials, so bidders should provide a labor-only bid. The scope of work includes setting 4 ductile iron poles, installing 2 wood poles, constructing 4 dual 6-inch schedule 40 duct banks totaling approximately 650 feet, installing 990 feet of 1000 MCM 3-phase primary cable, 24 1000 MCM terminators, and 6 gang-operated RLB switches. The contractor will also be responsible for removing/cutting the top out of 12 poles and removing existing overhead/underground lines. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 14, 2024, and bids are due by 10:00 AM on September 3, 2024, with a public bid opening at 1:00 PM the same day. FVUC reserves the right to reject any and all bids in total, in part, or to waive defects in bids.
This contract opportunity does not appear to have any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The IFB does not list any incumbent vendors or current contractors, and there is no mention of any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The IFB does not provide an estimated award value or budget range for the project.
