About this opportunity
The City of South Salt Lake is seeking bids for a Storm Water Pump Stations Upgrades project encompassing two distinct locations: Blair Street and Jordan River. The procurement is a public works contract opportunity requiring comprehensive retrofitting of existing storm water pump stations. Specific project deliverables include removing existing pumps and appurtenances, installing new pumps, control gates, concrete flooring, pump pedestals, electrical wiring, and control systems. The project will be competitively bid with a mandatory pre-bid conference scheduled for September 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the City Council Chambers. Sealed bids must be electronically submitted through the Utah Public Procurement Place (Bonfire) by 2:00 PM on October 8, 2025, with a public bid opening at 2:30 PM the same day. Bidders are required to provide a bid security of 5% of the total bid amount, and the winning contractor will be notified by 5:00 PM on October 15, 2025. Each location will require approximately 18 weeks for substantial completion after receiving the notice to proceed.
The contract opportunity does not specify any specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The project is structured with two bid schedules: Schedule A for the Blair Street pump station and Schedule B for the Jordan River pump station. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the documentation. The project involves significant electrical infrastructure upgrades, including new submersible pumps, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor controls, power distribution panels, and integration with existing site infrastructure. Electrical components will be housed in NEMA 3R enclosures with provisions for cellular antenna and remote telemetry unit (RTU) connections. While no specific budget range is provided, the comprehensive nature of the upgrades suggests a substantial investment in municipal storm water infrastructure. The project is not federally funded, and prevailing wage requirements do not apply to this local government contract.
