About this opportunity
The City of South Salt Lake is seeking architectural and engineering services for the comprehensive remodel of Fire Station 43, located at 3620 S. West Temple in South Salt Lake City, Utah. The procurement is structured as a competitive bid process with proposals due by 3:00 PM on August 29th, 2025, to be submitted to City Recorder Ariel Andrus either via printed documents or digital email submission. The full design service will encompass complete architectural and engineering scope, including schematic, preliminary, and construction documents, as well as construction design administration and project closeout. All engineering disciplines are required, specifically Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil engineering. A pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for August 12th, 2025, at 10:00 AM on-site, which is highly recommended but not mandatory, with attendance and project understanding potentially factoring into firm selection. Bidders will be evaluated on their comprehensive understanding of the project requirements, technical capabilities, and proposed approach to the Fire Station 43 remodel.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the procurement documents. The contract appears open to qualified architectural and engineering firms with demonstrated capabilities in municipal facility renovation. While no incumbent vendor was identified, interested parties can request additional project area access by contacting City Facility Manager Steve Niederhauser. The City of South Salt Lake reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and adjust the project scope as deemed necessary. Although a specific budget range was not disclosed, the comprehensive nature of the architectural and engineering services suggests a significant professional services contract. Interested firms should carefully review the attached documents, including the Request for Qualifications (RFQ), public notice, and any addenda, to fully understand the project requirements and submission expectations.
