About this opportunity
Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC), a two-year technical college serving an 11-county area in west central Wisconsin, is requesting proposals for a comprehensive Spray Booth Painting System to be installed in its new Transportation Education Center. The procurement is specifically for the Auto Collision program and involves acquiring three downdraft paint booths (two single-bay and one two-bay), two paint mix rooms, and one single-bay exhaust box with curtain walls. The primary objective is to provide innovative fabrication equipment that will help teach students modern auto refinishing processes using industry-specific technology. Evaluation criteria will include company capability and capacity (30 points), system ability to meet college needs (25 points), volume of comparable installations (20 points), cost (15 points), and references (10 points), totaling 100 points. Key dates include vendor questions due by December 8, 2020, proposal submissions due December 17, 2020, at 2:00 PM CST, project award scheduled for January 7, 2021, and equipment delivery required by December 1, 2021. Proposers must provide a minimum of three current references and three references from terminated customer relationships, and all equipment must comply with specific safety codes including NFPA 33, NFPA 70, NFPA 86, and OSHA 1910.107.
The Request for Proposal does not specify any specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations. Vendors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage, including Commercial General Liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate, Comprehensive Automobile Coverage of $1,000,000, and Workers' Compensation insurance. The contract includes a cooperative purchasing component, allowing other Wisconsin municipalities, technical colleges, universities, K-12 schools, and public agencies to potentially purchase the same products or services at the awarded pricing. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, proposers are required to submit itemized costs for each equipment component and installation services. The contract is contingent upon continued funding and can be canceled by the college without penalty due to non-appropriation of funds. Notably, the RFP invites vendors to propose value-added incentives and provides opportunities for proposers to detail any deviations from the specified equipment requirements.
