About this opportunity
The Town of Stratford, Connecticut is seeking competitive proposals for the operation of a food and full liquor permit restaurant located at the Short Beach Golf Clubhouse, situated at 1 Dorne Drive in Stratford. The procurement is a Request for Proposal (RFP) targeting experienced restaurateurs who can provide comprehensive food and beverage services to both the golfing community and general public. The selected lessee will be responsible for operating a full-service restaurant that complies with all local, state, and federal statutes and regulations governing restaurant and liquor service. Key objectives include maintaining a restaurant that serves the community's dining needs and enhances the Short Beach Golf Clubhouse experience. A mandatory site meeting is scheduled for March 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM, where prospective bidders can inspect the facility. The vendor question and answer period will run from February 29, 2024, at 3:00 PM EST until March 13, 2024, at 12:00 PM EDT. Proposals must be submitted in hard copy by March 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM EDT, with all communications directed to Phillip Ryan, the Purchasing Agent.
The RFP does not specify any specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types, indicating that all qualified restaurateurs may submit proposals. No incumbent vendor information is provided, and there are no explicit details about existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements. The solicitation documents do not outline a specific estimated contract value or budget range, nor do they specify the contract duration or potential renewal options. Payment terms are established as Net 30 days, and electronic bid submissions are explicitly prohibited. While the RFP emphasizes the need for compliance with regulatory standards and the importance of serving both the golfing community and general public, it provides minimal guidance on specific evaluation criteria for selecting the successful lessee. The opportunity appears to be a straightforward operational lease for a restaurant facility, with the primary goal of providing dining services at the Short Beach Golf Clubhouse.
