About this opportunity
Lamphere Public Schools is requesting sealed bids for complete shingle roof replacement at the Little League Baseball Facility in Madison Heights, Michigan, with bids due September 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. EST — a same-day deadline from posting.
Work must commence on or after October 14, 2026 and be fully complete by December 1, 2026. The scope includes removal of existing asphalt shingles, underlayment, and flashings down to wood decking; repair or replacement of defective deck substrate; installation of ice and water shield at eave edges, synthetic underlayment, and new sheet metal and penetration flashings per NRCA standards; and installation of 25-year workmanship and 40-year material warranted asphalt shingles. Addendum 1 (September 15, 2026) clarifies that contractors must evaluate delivery logistics given site access limitations; gate access to the ballfield building is available but vehicle weight and site conditions may restrict roof-truck access, requiring potential ground-dropping of materials and manual transport. Power vent installation on a sloped roof vent curb and coordination with mechanical contractors for condenser unit disconnection and relocation are specified. Contractors must bid as specified for valleys but may submit alternates or deduct proposals for shingle-valley methods.
Approved shingle manufacturers are GAF Timberline HDZ, Certainteel Landmark Pro, or Owens Corning Duration. Installer qualifications include manufacturer certification and minimum five years' experience. Contractors must provide base bid for complete roof replacement, unit prices for additional deck material repairs (per-board basis), and unit prices for labor and materials on a time-and-material basis for unforeseen repairs.
Insurance requirements include property damage coverage of $1,000,000 per accident, bodily injury coverage of $1,000,000 per person, workers' compensation, and completed operations insurance of $500,000. Pricing must be F.O.B. destination to Lamphere, Michigan, excluding state and federal taxes. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting was held September 10, 2026. Bid Bonds and Performance Bonds may be required. Bids remain firm for 120 days. Bidders must state required delivery timeline and tentative project starting and completion dates. Contractors must comply with Executive Order 11246 regarding Equal Employment Opportunity.
