About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to a shingle roof replacement project for Lamphere Public Schools' Little League Baseball Facility in Michigan, issued on September 15, 2026. The addendum provides clarifications and responses to contractor questions regarding project execution and technical requirements. Key considerations include staging and delivery logistics, where gate access to the ballfield building is available but vehicle weight and site conditions may restrict material supplier truck access to the roof. Contractors must evaluate their delivery methods and price accordingly, accounting for potential ground-dropping of materials near the parking area and manual transport to the building. The project requires installation of a power vent on a sloped roof vent curb with proper flashing per manufacturer specifications to ensure watertight conditions. Additionally, disconnection and relocation of existing condenser units will be managed by a mechanical contractor, with roofers responsible for replacing damaged decking at former unit locations and completing roof restoration. All damaged property resulting from contractor operations must be restored to pre-project condition at the contractor's expense.
Regarding technical specifications, contractors must bid as specified for valleys but may submit alternates or deduct proposals for using shingles in valleys as an alternative to the specified method. The addendum emphasizes that contractors should coordinate closely with material suppliers to finalize delivery logistics and means and methods prior to submission, ensuring proposed approaches account for site access limitations and any additional labor requirements. The District cannot guarantee that roof-loading will be feasible, placing responsibility on bidders to develop realistic plans and pricing that reflect actual site conditions and constraints.

Addendum No. 1 September 15, 2026
Lamphere Public Schools Little League Baseball Facility
Questions and Responses:
1) Staging and Delivery: There is gate access available to the ballfield building; however, contractors should be aware that vehicle weight and site conditions may limit the ability of a material supplier’s truck to access the building for roof-loading. Any damaged property will need to be brought back to pre-project condition at the contractor’s expense.
The District cannot guarantee that roof-loading will be feasible. Contractors should coordinate with their material supplier and evaluate the access and delivery requirements necessary for their proposed means and methods. Please price the project accordingly, including any additional labor or staging that may be required if materials must be ground-dropped near the parking area and transported to the building.
2) Power Vents: Contractors will mount the power vent on a sloped roof vent curb. Install and flash the curb per manufacturer’s requirements and ensure that the curb is watertight.
3) Condenser Units: Disconnection and relocation will be handled by a mechanical contractor. The units will not be placed back on the roof. Roofers will replace bad decking where units were previously located and roof accordingly.
4) Valleys: Please bid as specified, though ontractors may provide an alternate or deduct for using shingles in valleys.
