About this opportunity

The Ohio Division of Parks and Watercraft, on behalf of Sandusky County, issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) on March 10, 2026, with a deadline of March 31, 2026, for materials to create a shaded play space and ADA-compliant picnic area at Wingfoot Lake State Park. The primary procurement involves a 61' x 31' sunshade structure with all support beams, frame structure, hardware, and engineer-stamped plans based on Shade Systems Technology with Turn and Slide System specifications or industry-equivalent alternatives. The scope also includes four 8-foot wheelchair-accessible picnic tables, two animal-protected and accessible trash receptacles, and playground equipment designed to be accessible, inclusive, and sensory-focused for ages 2-12, all specifications based on or equivalent to Premier Polysteel equipment with a 20-year warranty. All materials must be new, not used, and must include complete installation instructions and all necessary hardware and specialized tools. An alternate bid option allows suppliers to propose the addition of a poured rubber surface to enhance safety and play experience, with installation to be completed by the awarded supplier if selected; the primary scope installation will be completed by DNR staff. Color selections for all equipment are subject to confirmation with the park manager prior to final procurement. The deliverables will be installed on an existing 60' x 30' concrete slab, with half the shaded area designated for playground equipment and the other half for the picnic area.

The procurement documents do not specify set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise restrictions, or incumbent vendor information within the available file summaries. No existing infrastructure integration requirements or technology compatibility specifications are detailed in the provided documentation. Similarly, the available documents do not disclose the award value, budget range, or specific pricing information for this procurement opportunity. Interested vendors should refer to the complete bid package and specification documents, including the DAS Standard Terms and Conditions and the Affirmation and Disclosure Form, for comprehensive procurement requirements, evaluation criteria, and any additional restrictions or qualifications applicable to responsive bidders.
