About this opportunity
Seminole County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a qualified, state-licensed electrical contractor to execute a comprehensive generator replacement project across six different county locations, including Fire Stations #42, #27, and #36, the Juvenile Assessment Center, Facilities on County Home Road, and the Public Works Admin Building. The project involves a complete turnkey service to replace multiple generators, disconnect switches, and automatic transfer switches, with new 2022 Generac generators ranging from 60kW to 130kW. The contractor will be responsible for transportation, installation, electrical permit acquisition, equipment removal, site cleanup, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. The solicitation requires the awarded contractor to obtain all necessary permits, including signed and sealed drawings for building, electrical, fire, and other regulatory permits. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for August 9, 2023, at 8:30am, with site visits to all six generator locations, and bid responses are due electronically by August 23, 2023, at 2:00 pm through the county's procurement website. Bid evaluation will focus on the bidder's ability, capacity, skill, performance history, financial resources, and compliance with county purchasing codes.
The procurement encourages participation from Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs), with no specific set-aside percentages mentioned. The total project estimate is $116,316.00, with a completion timeline of 120 calendar days (90 days for substantial completion and 30 days for final completion). Contractors must provide a one-year manufacturer warranty for installation and meet specific insurance requirements, including workers' compensation, general liability, and auto policy coverage. Seminole County will provide the new equipment to be installed and supply backup generators up to 150kW, with necessary fuel and cabling. The project requires contractors to minimize disruption to ongoing operations and reuse existing concrete pads, raceways, conduits, and sleeves where possible. Bidders must complete various certification forms, including non-collusion affidavits, public entity crimes forms, and drug-free workplace certifications. The county will support startup and testing, including a two-hour load bank test and report for each location.
