About this opportunity
The State of Florida, Department of Management Services, is issuing an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Security Guard Services. The ITB aims to establish a statewide State Term Contract to replace the current Security Guard Services Contract. The Department intends to make multiple awards, with the option to award on a statewide or regional basis. The initial contract term is for three years, with the possibility of two additional three-year renewal terms. The scope of work includes providing trained and qualified armed and unarmed security guards, as well as supervision, compliance with security policies, and various security-related tasks such as access control, site surveillance, and emergency response. Bidders must meet mandatory responsive requirements and demonstrate at least three years of experience providing security guard services for state or local government entities. The bid opening is scheduled for December 12, 2023, and the anticipated contract start date is March 25, 2024.
The Department is committed to supplier diversity and encourages participation from woman-, veteran-, and minority-owned business enterprises. The solicitation does not provide specific pricing terms or set-asides, but indicates that the Basis of Award will be the lowest responsive bid for each region. The current security guard services contract had an average annual spend of $46.3 million, though actual spend under the new contract is not guaranteed. Interested vendors must review the full solicitation and any applicable addenda posted on the Vendor Information Portal.
