About this opportunity

Galveston County, Texas has issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) 25-078 to procure four specialized vehicles for two county departments: the Galveston County Sheriff Office and Senior Services. The Sheriff Office requires two secure transport vans, with the first accommodating a minimum of twelve passengers (thirteen preferred) equipped with restraints, window cages, and partition cages, and the second providing one to two wheelchair positions with ADA wheelchair lift capability, six passenger seats, and similar security features. Senior Services seeks one passenger transport van with two wheelchair positions at the front, six to eight rear passenger seats, and a passenger-side wheelchair ramp, as well as one shuttle bus with twelve to fifteen passenger capacity, two wheelchair positions, a bifold passenger door, and rear wheelchair lift. All vehicles must be 2025 model year or newer and include standard manufacturer equipment plus the specified customizations. The bid was posted on February 17, 2026, with a submission deadline of March 19, 2026. Awarded vendors must acknowledge their agreement to supply additional identical units at the same price upon receipt of valid purchase orders during Fiscal Year 2026 (October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026). The documentation does not specify detailed evaluation criteria beyond vehicle specifications and model year requirements.

The available bid documentation does not specify any set-aside designations, restrictions on respondent types, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or incumbent vendor information. No pricing information, budget ranges, or award values are detailed in the provided files. Similarly, the documentation does not address existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements, though the nature of the procurement suggests that vehicles will be delivered as standard commercial products without complex system integration needs. Prospective bidders should consult the complete ITB package, including general terms and conditions, payment terms, insurance requirements, and any additional specifications or submission requirements that may accompany the core procurement documents provided.
