About this opportunity

Royal Oak Schools is requesting bids for practice field renovations at Royal Oak High School in Macomb County, Michigan, with bids due October 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. local time under RFP #27-03. A pre-bid meeting was held October 15, 2026; site visits may be scheduled by contacting Mark Paulus at mark.paulus@royaloakschools.org or (248) 880-6791.

The scope includes excavation and removal of 10 inches of existing soil, installation of synthetic turf with drainage systems meeting specified technical requirements, concrete curbs with wood nailers around turf perimeters, and site restoration. An alternate bid option covers an additional 10,800 square feet of turf using Astroturf Rootzone 3D3 52 oz 2" or equivalent material. The project includes concrete turf anchors, geotextile fabric, and perforated collector piping per attached technical drawings. The existing irrigation system operates at 2" main line with 2-wire configuration and will remain operational. Contractors are responsible for temporary and permanent fencing, sidewalk concrete replacement, and site restoration. Equipment and material laydown is available at a cul-de-sac south of the concession building from June 5, 2027 through August 6, 2027.

The base bid includes estimated city permit costs of $4,000, with up to $10,000 available from a general allowance for additional permit costs (excluding those associated with northern site access off Normandy Avenue). Construction is scheduled between June 5, 2027 and August 6, 2027. Bid documents detail pricing requirements, evaluation criteria, insurance provisions, and bonding conditions. Funding derives from the school district's capital improvement budget or bond funds for facility upgrades.
